Scott Garner

As President of Charter, Scott leads the company's design-build construction and commercial brokerage services, helping clients navigate projects from initial planning through completion.
Scott began his career as a carpenter in 1996 and advanced through the construction industry as a superintendent, project manager, project executive, before acquiring Charter in 2023.
Throughout his career, he has led the delivery of healthcare, industrial, commercial, and institutional projects, including Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina's headquarters in Durham, the BB&T (now Truist) Leadership Institute in Raleigh, the Foundation YMCA in Wilson, and numerous projects for Duke Health and other leading healthcare organizations.
Scott holds a degree in Construction Management from East Carolina University and an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School with a focus in Finance and Real Estate. He is also a licensed North Carolina General Contractor and Real Estate Broker.
Scott grew up in Wayne County and now lives in Wilson with his wife Cristy. Their daughter, Alex, is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and practices real estate with Charter. For Scott, building something that lasts has never been just about construction, it’s about the people and communities behind it.

Alex is a commercial real estate broker with Charter, focused on helping clients buy, sell, lease, and develop property across Eastern North Carolina. Raised in Wilson and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she brings a regional perspective to serve clients at every stage of a transaction.
